Wynn (Maria) is an Atlanta-based Nonbinary illustrator with a BFA from SCAD. They've always had an interest in art from a young age and have gravitated towards creative hobbies as a means of expressing themselves. Although they were born in Atlanta, they spent their childhood in Europe, learning about different cultures and experiences that now influence their art. From the age of 5, they lived in Berlin, Germany, where they spent 5 1/2 years and learned to speak fluent German. In Berlin, they met many people from all over the world and took various art classes and museum courses, which fueled their passion for art and creating. At the age of 10, they moved to Dublin, Ireland, where they were surrounded by nature and the ocean and immersed in Irish culture and history.
Now they are back in Atlanta, where they were born, working on refining their artist voice and style and creating illustrations that reflect their experience, often incorporating themes from the places they have been as well as who they are as a person.
Wynn aspires to work in product illustration and publication, as well as character design, focusing on storytelling through expressive characters and immersive backgrounds. Their work often reflects gothic influences, music, and mythology. Wynn enjoys using saturated colors, analogous and complementary palettes, and incorporating varied textures to enhance visual depth and emotion.
